Translated Lyrics with Romanization
Everything ultimately returns to Allah.
3al Allah ta3oud 3al Allah
O you who are lost in Allah’s domains.
Ya daye’ fi diyār Allah
After you, oh precious one.
Men ba’dak enta ya ghāli
I have no beloved ones except Allah.
Ma li aḥbāb gheir Allah
You who have made my time bitter.
Yalli marramart zamani
As if you had stopped loving me.
Kanak battelt tehwāni
O father of the beloved, meet me.
Ya abu al-aḥbāb lā’īni
After your absence, console me.
Men ba’d ghiyāb hanīnī
Let my tears quench my thirst.
Hāji min dumu’i tisqīnī
My tears have dried, indeed, by Allah.
Nashfat dumu’i, ay wallah
May our delight and happiness return to us through Allah.
3al Allah ta3oud bahjatna w el-farah
And may our home be filled with smiles and celebrations.
W tighmur darna el-basmah w el-farah
We spent our lives; some lingered while others departed.
Qadaynā el-‘umr, laff dal w laff rāh
And life was lost in separation and absence.
W da‘a el-‘umr, hijrān w ghiyāb
If one day your message reaches me.
Law jānī yawm mursalak
And reassure me about your well-being.
W temmnī yawm ‘an ḥālak
To delight the heart for your sake.
Laṭrib el-fu’ād kiramālak
And I prostrate at the doors of Allah.
W asjud ‘ala abwāb Allah
